As the days get shorter, darker, and colder in the winter, many turn to food as a source of internal warmth and comfort. Besides being essential for life, food brings people together and generally just makes us feel good.

This is especially true during the chilly winter months we get in Melbourne, where a belly full from a nice warm bowl of pasta and tasty comfort food is more than welcome.

We’ve decided to throw together a list of popular comfort foods that are commonly enjoyed during the winter at Baci Restaurant.

Standing tall at the first position in the list of foods that you must try is Spaghetti Carbonara. We are very proud of the dish, so appreciating every bite of it is customary.

You might feel that Carbonara pasta is something that can be found in any part of the world. But what’s special about this dish is that it is one of the most evergreen Italian recipes that highlight this cuisine’s unique characteristic in the best way possible.

This spaghetti dish is pure magic, prepared with fresh pancetta, parmesan, pepper, and egg yolk.

Spaghetti bolognese is a pasta dish consisting of spaghetti (long, thin cylindrical pasta) and a sauce made of minced beef, tomatoes, onion, bacon, red wine, and herbs.

The dish is one of Italy’s most popular exports and is thought to have originated in Imola, a northern Italian city west of Bologna.

For anyone who loves both Italian cuisine and seafood, this classic pasta dish is a real treat.

Served over a bed of piping-hot linguine, our recipe combines prawns, calamari, scallops, mussels, tomato, basil, white wine, garlic & a touch of Napoli sauce.

Penne Bolognese

A classic risotto is a rich, creamy dish with nearly a porridge-like consistency, yet each grain of rice retains a distinct bite. In our Italian risotto, the rice is parched as in the pilaf method, but the liquid is added and absorbed gradually while the grain is stirred almost constantly.
A warm and comforting dish in the winter our chicken risotto consists of chicken, baby spinach, porcini mushroom, basil pesto, mascarpone, cherry tomato & truffle oil.

Homemade gnocchi with confit cherry tomato, napoli sauce, ricotta, garlic, basil, extra virgin olive oil cooked to the perfect consistency almost melts in your mouth with every bite.
